Volcano Birthday Cake

A volcano cake was requested this year for his volcano themed birthday party. In order to make the volcanoes, I used waffle cones and I put large marshmallows in them (to help fill the insides if I put strawberry sauce in them later). To make the largest volcano, I put two cones on top of each other with a little marshmallow and icing in between to make it taller then I used broken pieces of cones to fill in the bottom of that volcano before icing it. The lava is simply red rock candy suckers stuck in the top of the open cones. I should have used a smaller icing tip for the text and I totally forgot to buy a cake board, but I'm sure it will be hit! I did buy red strawberry ice cream sauce to drizzle down the edge of the volcanoes when the guests arrive.

Adoption is...

I made this in a crafty moment this summer. I love old tiles. I had seen this saying online and loved it. The coloured backgrounds behind the letters are just paint swatches. One of the greens is actually the colour of the baby's room, which we also painted this last summer. You can't see the frame, but I framed it. 

Bottlecap Photo Magnets

Magnets I made by putting photos into bottlecaps and then adding a paper glaze on top. To give them as a gift, I placed them on a cookie sheet.

Scrabble Tiles Craft for My Students

I've been collecting a lot of old Scrabble games whenever I can find them. I've made several different crafts out of them. As an end of school year gift for my primary age students, I made each student one like this with their name on it. I glued the letters together and added magnets on the back. Then I made tags that said A great summer has your name on it!  :)
